The Ramune soft drink is extremely popular in Japan and has a long tradition - it was invented in 1884. Even then, the bottle was characterized by the characteristic glass bead as a closure. It is precisely this bottle and its original closure that make the drink so special to this day. Instead of simply unscrewing the lid, a small plastic part is placed on the ball, which is then pressed into the bottle with a bold push. The ball then makes a pleasant clinking sound when you drink.
In Japan, the Ramune drink is symbolic of the hot summer months, when you see people everywhere putting balls into the bottles. The empty bottles are lined up along the streets for collection.
